Our variety trials

We are happy to hear from fellow enthusiasts if they have a vine or vines which do well, and which we do not appear to have. In absence of official help or encouragement our collection constitutes the nearest things to trials in this country, and we are always looking to add new varieties. These may include apparently named varieties which clearly do not match my catalogue description. Please feel free to contact me on (01981) 240 256 or email vinenursery@hotmail.com .

We are happy to hear from vine enthusiasts from the USA and Canada, but vine imports from the UK to the USA and Canada are illegal. Please try Lon Romborough - Lonrom@bunchgrapes.com for supplies, as for advice and a wide range of cultivars, we would recommend contacting Cornel University, New York State.

Advice

We enclose a basic leaflet with plants sent. In addition, the book by Allan Rowes " Successful Grape Growing for Eating and Winemaking" or the R.H.S (Royal Horticultural Society) booklet on vines can be recommended.

We also recommend the book "Northern Winework: Growing grapes and Making Wine in Cold Climates" by Tom Plocher and Bob Parke.
This book is available from us at £15 including postage
.
